An Industrial Placements System for a Higher Education College

The University College Birmingham (formerly the Birmingham College of Food, Tourism and Creative Studies) places thousands of students on Industrial Placements every year. A team of 15 people manage this process. The College had used a series of databases built by staff which as they multiplied became increasingly inefficient.

Then they discovered Integrated Information Software Systems powered by Deskspace.

Deskspace were able to consolidate their 60 odd existing databases into an Integrated System with just 5 modules, able to run on from year to year, automatically updated each day from the College's Management Information System and saving staff an enormous amount of time every week.

The system delivered to the College included all the specific features they wanted as well as the ability of their system administrator to create and amend report formats to give them considerable flexibility.
